Feeding America who receives the proceeds from this blog is working to raise over 1 million dollars to meet the surge in demand before their fiscal year ends.  Tomorrow June 30th.

Right now due to a matching grant from their board of directors, your gift will DOUBLE to provide TWICE AS MUCH FOOD for hungry families.

For the next 24 hours, until 5pm on June 30th, 2009 this White Girl With a Fat Ass will 100% MATCH any donation that you give.  That’s right, if you donate $10, I will donate $10.  If you donate $20, I will donate $20.  If you donate $100, well then I will probably put out.  It’s been known to happen.

Craziness you say?  Maybe, but I firmly believe in work that Feeding America does to help the hungry in our country.  And after freaking out this weekend because someone posted a ‘Fat’ picture of me on Facebook, I decided that perhaps a priority check was in order.  For the next, however long it takes, I will strive to pack a healthy, cost-effective lunch instead of blowing excess money on comfort food and ice coffees in a vain attempt to self-medicate myself out of this funk I have been in lately.

I will set aside that saved money to go towards my own personal WGWaFA matching grant to whatever is raised in the next 24 hours.  So what are you waiting for? CLICK HERE TO DONATE Or spread the word to a friend.  With two matching grants, EVERY $1 DONATED WILL PROVIDE 28 MEALS!!

As I mentioned, I have been battling an insomnia inducing angst as of late.  This weekend, I was one sleepless night away from hallucinating Care Bears. And then a quiet thing turned me around.  I got caught in the rain Saturday (shocker!) going to meet a friend at South Street Seaport.  After the rainstorm, a perfect full rainbow came out over the Brooklyn Bridge.  It was a gift.  I wish you were there, but at least I can share this photo with you.  Thank you to Ephemerist for the photo and for being my friend.
